School Spotlight – Christ Lutheran Preschool, Battle Mountain, Nevada
Christ Lutheran Church in Battle Mountain was organized in 1968 and the preschool was started in 2002 through the leadership of Pastor Mark Kliewer, who serves as the pastor of Christ along with Zion Lutheran in Winnemucca, Nevada. Although the congregation is very small (12 individuals), there is a strong commitment to serving the Battle Mountain community with a quality preschool. Marie Benson has been serving at Christ Preschool since 2016, becoming Director in 2019. The preschool serves 26 students from 3-5 years old. Marie will be leaving at the end of this year to teach in an elementary school, but she will be succeeded by Rebecca Love. Rebecca has been a teacher at Christ for the past 5 years.
