Benicia Lutheran Church offered a free Day Camp, July 15-19, with over 50 children registered and average daily attendance of 46. The five leaders from Mt. Cross and the five leaders from Leaven Kids, a Christian after-school program, connected very well with the campers. BLC served lunches and snacks at no cost to the campers. The program was well received - as one mother said about her son, “He has been beaming each day.”
It was a blessing to the several Junior Volunteers as well as to the campers. While the campers were from the Benicia and Vallejo area, one Junior Volunteer was from Las Vegas and one of the Mt. Cross leaders came from Malaysia as part of an exchange program.
