Human Care Ministries
"Facing the Challenges to Mental Health" Recap
There were 66 people and 1 comfort dog who came together March 25 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tracy, to Face the Challenges to Mental Health. In the keynote address, The Rev. Dr. Darrell Zimmerman from Grace Place gave two important guidelines for substantial healing for the broken spirit: 1) Christians make use of all psychological therapies and healing arts and 2) People with mental health issues need more than the world offers: they need the grace of God. The four breakout sessions provided more specific tools for addressing mental health challenges.
The mission of the Human Care Ministries Committee is to challenge and encourage congregations in proclaiming the Gospel through compassionate ministry to the human needs of all people.
