Update on Joel Koerschen: After undergoing surgery to have a left ventricular assistant device (lvad) implanted in his heart, Joel has recovered to the point that he is now outfitted with mobile battery packs enabling him to take supervised walks. He is on the list to o receive a heart transplant. His wife, Carolyn, has created a blog in Carepages, to provide current information about Joel's condition.
